Walthamstow Festival - Artist Market 20 Local artists, designers and makers will be selling their wares at the ‘Artist Market’ during Walthamstow Festival, in the town square on July 11th.  A wide range of affordable artworks, paintings, photography, illustrations, prints, jewellery, textiles and artists cards available.  Plus an invitation to design a deck chair covering for an exciting new project from artist Morag McGuire: 'Re-arranging the Deck Chairs'. Artist Forum Trail Blazing - Orientation for Art Trails An artist’s forum to explore the possibilities of art trails and artist networks organised by Artillery the creative team behind the E17 Art Trail. A programme of presentations, open discussions and workshops. Speakers include Brighton's Artists Open Houses and artist Alison Marchant. (More to to be confirmed shortly)   Sunday 26th July, 12-6pm Walthamstow Library High Street Walthamstow E17 7NJ It's an ambitious one day programme to explore art trails, open houses, artist networks, professional development and art in community settings.  Especially with regard to making these activities sustainable. E17 Art Trail Commissioning Project This year we applied to the Arts Council England for a small grant towards three artist commissions during the art trail.  We are very pleased to say that we have been successful and are now selecting from the proposals already submitted. Submissions are now closed. Two commissions will be awarded to visual artists showing new work in an exhibition during the E17 Art Trail.  A further commission will be awarded for an individual or group to produce an online blog as a creative piece of work and a document of the art trail and other commissioned work.  The intention for this project is to offer practical support to artists wishing to develop their work and showcase it during the E17 Art Trail.
